The roof of the beach park restroom building sustained damage in Hurricane Irma and repairs were made at that time. Further damage to the roof occurred after Hurricane Ian causing leaks in both restrooms which led to the decision to replace the roof.

Sabal Construction of Ft. Myers was selected for the project of replacing the roof and skylights on the restroom building. The new roof selected is made of a thicker aluminum product, versus steel, and all fasteners are stainless steel so they will not rust.

Demolition of the existing roof began July 8th and proceeded with the removal of the metal roof and skylights. In the process, approximately half of the plywood decking was revealed to be rotten and had to be replaced. The next phase involved the installation of new metal roof panels and new skylights which began on July 17th.
We expect the work to be completed very soon and look forward to the long life expectancy of this new roof.
