Over 200 of our neighbors gathered to enjoy a beautiful afternoon together in celebration of Park Shore’s 60th Anniversary. To head up the celebrations, Scott Lutgert, son of Raymond L. Lutgert, shared stories behind our extraordinary community and its inspirations.
After we heard from Scott, we had residents from the audience step up to share what led them to choose Park Shore as their home. Some residents came to the microphone having just moved to the neighborhood and others, like Donna Knaust, a Park Shore resident of over 45 years, shared fond memories of moving to the neighborhood.
Also, with the milestone celebration came an unveiling of a time capsule that will be buried and then unearthed at the next milestone anniversary. Included in the time capsule were lots of interesting items like a copy of the warranty deed of the Beach Park, meeting minutes from the 70s when the concerns of the day were camping on the beach and drag racing on Park Shore Drive, a current newspaper article dated April 8 reporting on the solar eclipse, along with a pair of solar eclipse sunglasses.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to the Lutgert family for their contributions to this event and their enduring support of our remarkable neighborhood throughout the decades. We also appreciate the Venetian Village for providing wonderful gifts to those who attended the celebration. Lastly, and very importantly, we would like to thank our gracious Park Shore Association members who contributed to the restoration of our beach park. Because of you, our members are able to enjoy flourishing green grass and lush landscaping at our most amazing, gifted beach park.
