The beach park has been a lovely spot this summer. The dune plantings done by Collier County are taking hold and growing in well. We have erected a new sign outlining the rules for use of the beach park after our previous sign was lost after Hurricane Ian. The cluster of cabbage palms that everyone has enjoyed for the shade they provide seem to be thriving after the assault they took last year. The benches are individually being restored to remove any damage that was done after last year’s storms. Overall, things look beautiful.
As the rainy season kicked in this summer, we had issues with water draining from our park onto the La Mer property, taking sand with it. We engaged Naples Excavating to advise us on a plan to correct this while the larger plan involving the promenade elevation is in the works. A temporary silt fence, along with some additional work on the slope of the sand berm, was completed in July. Irrigation and a band of sod are being added to provide stability to this area.

I have not received any recent updates on the plan to raise the promenade. I expect that as people begin to return to Naples, we will see more information become available. We will keep you informed when we have something to report.
