Providing Comfort and Support to Those in Need
The Naples Police Department is proud to introduce its newest and most heartwarming team member: Max, a cuddly Golden Retriever who serves as the department’s crisis care canine. Max’s handler, Officer Jeff Perry, is the dedicated community police officer for the Park Shore area, and together they make an incredible team.
Max is not your ordinary police dog; his mission is to offer emotional support to children and adults experiencing crises. Whether it’s a traumatic event, a stressful situation, or a personal loss, Max’s calming presence can make all the difference. His gentle nature and affectionate demeanor have a soothing effect on those who need it the most.
Residents of Naples have the opportunity to meet Max and Officer Jeff on Mondays at various city parks. These visits are a wonderful chance for the community to get to know this compassionate duo and experience firsthand the comfort that Max provides. To stay updated on when and where Max and Jeff will be available, be sure to follow the Naples Police Department on Instagram or Facebook.
Through their social media channels, the department regularly posts information about Max’s schedule, ensuring that those who need a little extra support know exactly where to find it. The initiative has been met with overwhelming positivity, as Max continues to bring smiles and solace to the Naples community.
In a world where crises can strike unexpectedly, having a resource like Max is invaluable. The Naples Police Department’s commitment to mental health and well-being is exemplified by this compassionate program, and Max is a perfect furry ambassador of that mission. So next time you see Max and Officer Jeff in the park, don’t hesitate to say hello and experience the healing power of a wagging tail and a warm heart.
